Fire test 7
The video shows fire test No. 7 with the LiBa®Rescue recovery system. The interior shot comes from a camera installed on the dashboard and positioned in the direction of the rear window.
An original hybrid battery in the associated battery housing was ignited.
Not visible from the outside for a long time at first: there is isolated flame formation after ignition (visible as a reflection in the rear window), but this very quickly consumes the available oxygen. Gradually, there is a further pressure build-up inside the battery housing as well as strong smoke gas formation and finally (at 12:39:14 in the picture) the through-ignition, which is visible from the outside as detonation.
The pressure wave can escape, sparks and flammable battery parts as well as bursting vehicle parts are reliably retained. A fire outside the system is effectively prevented.
Fire test no. 8
The video shows fire test No. 8 with the LiBa®Rescue recovery system from the outside.
An original battery module from a complete system without battery housing was ignited with the aim of provoking further fire sources in the vehicle by flying battery parts.
During the reaction, the smoke gas escapes through the gas-permeable recovery system. As in the previous test, sparks and flammable battery parts as well as bursting vehicle parts are effectively contained. A fire outside the system is effectively prevented. The test also shows that by releasing an oxygen-displacing gas from the textile, any further fire development inside the vehicle caused by burning battery parts flying around is reliably prevented.
